At Brave Bs we believe in courage.
It takes a great deal of courage to accept our thoughts and feelings and to stand up for the planet. We believe that cultivating mindfulness through yoga, and art and craft helps the children develop healthy habits for coping with all the challenges they may have and it can lead to better choices for the planet as well. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment where children can learn and have fun whilst becoming more eco-responsible. The consumption culture have taken over us for the past decades and our ecosystems are under pressure. It is time to take actions!
More about kids yoga
In our modern world children face stress on a daily basis. They need to meet the increasing demands coming from school while adapting the fast-paced and ever changing environments. They often feel overwhelmed and suffer from a lack of connection to themselves, to their bodies and to the world around them. The stimulus-rich culture we have been living in puts a great deal of pressure on the children. They might start developing attention and learning problems, anger and anxiety issues, which will lead to decreased self-esteem, lack of empathy and problems in developing relationships. The good news is that we have the tools to help children become more resilient, happy and healthy in mind, body and soul through the practice of yoga. Yoga will contribute to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth of the children while they make meaningful connections with others and they develop a sense of compassion and understanding towards themselves as well as others.
More about art & craft
Through art and craft projects kids learn about different shapes, how to count or measure lenghts, how to execute their ideas. It develops their fine motor skills and improves their creativity. Art allows kids to express their feelings in a healthy and safe way, it encourages finding new ways of thinking and improves problem solving. Our aim is to give children achievable goals and allow them to take pride in whatever they do so they can build a strong self-confidence. In the older age groups they might need to work together on a project which teaches them how to cooperate and communicate effectively and it is a great opportunity to form new friendships. The activities don’t require lots of tools so you can recreate them at home with your children allowing both of you to spends more quality time together while exploring new ideas. To make art and craft sustainable we will use everyday materials which could be easily found at home such as plastic bottles, toilet rolls or jam jars.
psychologist & yoga teacher
I was lucky enough to have been introduced to sports from a young age. I learnt early on how much joy and happiness sports can give you and how good they can make you feel. Sports have always been a big part of my life and I am eternally grateful for my parents, teachers and coaches for teaching me how to look after my body in such joyous ways. My journey with yoga started in 2017 when I finished my masters degree in psychology and moved to London. I still find it funny that the only reason I decided to try yoga was because it was a hot yoga class and I was cold all the time (it took me a while until I got used to the weather in England). Going to that class however turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made and I immediately knew that I had just found something which was going to be a big part of my life. As my practice evolved, so did my desire to share it with others. I have always had a passion for movement and a genuine interest in the human mind so I took the plunge in 2020 and completed a 200-hours yoga teacher training with Lumi Power Yoga – still my all time favourite yoga studio in London. I trained in power vinyasa style with them, then later I qualified in yin yoga with Yoga Union. Having worked as a nanny for three years brought a natural continuation into my yoga teacher education and I completed a kids yoga teacher training with Cosmic Kids. I strongly believe in the power of yoga and mindfulness. Through the practice of yoga children can learn effective ways of coping with emotions or stress, they can learn new things about themselves, others and the world around them whilst looking after their health in a fun way. My goal is to create a safe space where children can learn new tools to navigate in our ever-changing world while they are having fun and making new friendships.
My name is Bori and I am an environmental engineer. After high school I started studying biology at university, but after a while I realised it wasnt my path. I had a gap year in Cambridge which made me fall in love with England. As I always got on well with kids I decided to work as an au-pair during my time there. I enjoyed it so much that I kept doing it for another 3 years in London. In the meantime I have started the environmental engineer course and it was love at first lesson. I enjoyed every lesson and I knew instantly that I would like to pass my knowledge to kids. I believe that through art and different activities they can learn a lot without noticing it.
Our planet is in danger because of our behavior and I think the change starts with us. We need to be greener and by teaching the kids how important recycling is and keeping our neighbourhood clean we are one step closer to a better future.
